Olympus SP-510 Ultra Zoom Digital Camera Review

Here’s a camera that can satisfy both the needs of beginners and advanced users: to the incredible point-and-shoot functionality (including image stabilization, 21 preset Scene Modes – with Super Macro Mode) adds professional features like: full manual controls, ISO 4000 and RAW shooting, not to mention the 10x optical zoom. The design combines metal and plastic even in color (silver+black), it has an ergonomic body with a good grip, intuitive menu and well-placed buttons.
Olympus SP-510 Ultra Zoom takes sharp images with accurate colors (nor over nor under-saturated), minor artifacts and no fringing. The auto white balance does a fine job. The in-camera red eye fix also. With this camera you can get an amazing number of 630 shots with standard batteries – impressive. The fast start-up and nearly instant shutter release time ensures a high-speed response. I can not agree more to this statement: “The Olympus SP-510 UZ is one of the best combinations of features, performance and price of any digital camera,” said Michael Barnett, product manager, Olympus Imaging America Inc.
