Sony Cybershot DSC-H3 Digital Camera Review

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H3 has pretty much everything that a high zoom SLR-like camera (it’s still not a SLR, it comes with an integrated lens) should have: full manual controls, RAW mode, pop-up flash, histogram display, features like face detection and image stabilization, but, it lacks a viewfinder (nor electronic or optical). 10x optical zoom and 8 megapixels are satisfying for anyone who goes deeply into photography when combined with the manual functions, but, the image quality is not as good as the one provided by similar cameras: noisy shots starting from ISO 400. The camera took 1.8 seconds to start up and capture its first JPEG, 1.3 seconds between JPEGs with the flash disabled and 2.6 seconds between shots with the flash turned on. Olympus SP-500 Ultra Zoom Digital Camera Review

Olympus SP-500 is a 10X optical zoom camera, meaning it is an ultra zoom camera, way above the average zoom of other cameras; it provides 6 Megapixel CCD, large 2.5 inch LCD display, full manual controls (including white balance and focus), and plenty of scene modes plus shortcuts and custom button. The buttons are intuitively placed and the hand grip is perfect. The power-up and shooting times are about average. Noise reduction, panorama mode and panorama stitch software, histogram, build-in red eye removal and frame assist are the main features that would make me choose this ultra zoom digital camera. There is a possibility to shoot in … Read more

Here’s a camera that can satisfy both the needs of beginners and advanced users: to the incredible point-and-shoot functionality (including image stabilization, 21 preset Scene Modes – with Super Macro Mode) adds professional features like: full manual controls, ISO 4000 and RAW shooting, not to mention the 10x optical zoom. The design combines metal and plastic even in color (silver+black), it has an ergonomic body with a good grip, intuitive menu and well-placed buttons. Olympus SP-510 Ultra Zoom takes sharp images with accurate colors (nor over nor under-saturated), minor artifacts and no fringing. The auto white balance does a fine job. The in-camera red eye fix also. With this camera you can get an amazing number of 630 shots with standard batteries – impressive. The fast start-up and nearly instant shutter release time ensures a high-speed response. I can not agree more to this statement: “The Olympus SP-510 UZ is … Read more
