New changes to Photoaxe – Becoming a Branded Website for Photographers

Hello dear reader!

This is me, Laura, the creator and author of Photoaxe.com, talking now. I want to inform you that, despite of a huge lack of time, I’m trying to get Photoaxe to a new level. It’s been 8 years since I started this website and since then a lot of things happened. I want to put everything behind, and as as times have changed, I’m going to adapt.

For starters, Photoaxe has a brand new logo, one that will make this name stand out and help you remember it. I want people to say: “Hey, I found that great article on aperture on Photoaxe!” not… “I found a great article on aperture on some site, photo-something“. I created the logo myself, and installed a new theme, with a new modern mobile-friendly look.

I’m struggling to do the design and functionality of the site, the marketing, SEO and social media promotion, all by myself. Can you imagine how hard that is for just one man? I’m in dire need for YOUR help now.

Help me reach a new level by like-ing and sharing inspirational photos, quotes, tutorials, photography resources, books and classes that I will provide from time to time:

Stepping up to a new level also means that Photoaxe needs more editors. As of now, I’m no longer the sole author of the articles posted here. There’s two of us, but more are expected!

Photoaxe.com is open for guest posting and permanent editors. I’m especially looking for someone to take over the “Camera Reviews” category. Kelsey and I are in charge of “Photography Tutorials” and “Photo Editing“.

Next, I’m going to review the entire content of the website and clean-up old stuff. The category “Camera Firmware” will be removed completley, Camera Specifications will be included in Camera Reviews, and most of the new articles will be tutorials, tips and tricks and photo editing lessons. This process will take a while since there are almost 900 articles currently posted.

The Photo-Critique category should be revived at some point. That’s why I encourage you, my dear reader, to send me your pictures. It costs nothing to get an opinion on your photography skills and learn a few tricks to improve!

There are many things that could still be done, but for now, that’s how my future plan looks like. Photoaxe has become huge, and harder to sustain. Give me a hand if you like this website!

I started photography as a hobby in 2005, during college. My passion slowly became a more important part of my life since 2008. Because of using a combination of my photographic knowledge, with those of internet marketing, I like to call myself a "photomarketer".
