Nikon Coolpix S4 Digital Camera Review

Attractive design, well-built with plastic lens cap compact digital camera from Nikon is the Coolpix S4 model. The lens portion of the camera rotates 270 degrees. Face-priority AF recognizes faces in a scene and keeps them in focus. Electronic VR (vibration reduction) image stabilization is available in movie mode also and prevents blurred images caused by camera shake. The Best Shot Selector feature automatically chooses the least blurry image in a series shot while the Shutter button remains pressed. D-Lighting is a Playback-mode option that brightens shadow areas. The camera also makes a copy of the image without the D-Lighting effect applied. The Nikon Coolpix S4 provides PictBridge and USB compatibility, TV out, plus Nikon Picture Project 1.5 software for both Mac and Windows.
Battery life is about the average, images with very bright colors and exceptional macros, flexible movie options, more than average optical zoom, Panorama Assist; these are reasons for you to choose the Coolpix S4. Its a bit slow so you not capture unique moments that happen too fast for this camera, but otherwise it provides good quality pictures and movies (but without sound).

I started photography as a hobby in 2005, during college. My passion slowly became a more important part of my life since 2008. Because of using a combination of my photographic knowledge, with those of internet marketing, I like to call myself a "photomarketer".

  1. I have had my S-4 since March of last year and I am generally very happy with it. One complaint: When the hinge breaks on the lenscap it is impossible to get a replacement, and they break easily.
