Kodak EasyShare Z612 Digital Camera Review

This digital camera targets more advanced photographers, like the ones between compacts and SLRs. Therefore, starting from its robust silver design, it wont fit your pocket, it has a large comfortable viewfinder, pop-up flash, offers histogram display on the LCD, and it is equipped with SLR-like buttons. The shutter speed goes up to 16 sec, the optical zoom goes to an impressive 12x, manual modes (aperture priority, shutter priority, manual) are available, exposure, metering are also adjustable, but no manual white balance. Kodak Easyshare C653 Digital Camera Review

The Kodak EasyShare C653 digital camera is an affordable and clever 6.1 megapixel camera, with a rather robust unstylish metal design. I say clever because it features Kodak Perfect Touch technology, cropping, digital red-eye reduction, blurry picture alert and anti-blur mode, panorama stitch mode, High ISO scene mode, capture framing grid and undo-delete, plus that it has a viewfinder. Still: with this kind of design I expected more manual controls. The Kodak AF 3X Optical Aspheric Lens captures crisp details. Compared to other Kodak point-and-shots, this one deserves my recommendation. Note that it uses AA NI-MH rechargeable batteries and SD memory card that are easy to find anywhere in case you need replacements. Canon PowerShot A540 Digital Camera Review

Canon Powershot A540 adds Shutter and Aperture Priority Modes to the old Canon A530 as well as 6MP instead of 5MP, and continues featuring the 4x optical zoom. Also, it enlarges the LCD screen and a 16:9 widescreen resolution option. Not only that I’m happy to find a compact digital camera with manual functions and controls, but Im also happy to see it has a quite good optical viewfinder that can be used when the sign low battery appears; and the possibility to attach (with an adapter ring) filters and lenses (don’t expect a large range – its still a compact camera). An underwater case is also available as optional accessory. It has a good hand grip and its very steady on a tripod, but will only fit the bag, not the pocket. Not only the flexibility of the options it provides, but also the vivid colors, low noise and … Read more
